Interview with Kadestorm

Today, we sat down with death metal musician Kadestorm to talk writing music, advice for musicians and more. Be sure to check out his Bandcamp below to purchase his music!

Here is the interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?

Answer: There’s definitely an element of surroundings, both the material and the psychological, contributing to that inspiration. It’s a composite of the personal merged with the external.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

Answer: Generally anything dark and heavy.

Is there someone you looked up to as a hero?

Answer: I think idealising individuals as heroes is a treacherous road. One has to find people worthy of respect and honour. That I can say is quite a large list of noteworthy folk.

If you weren’t a musician, what would you be doing today?

Answer: I have other interests and engagements, but I really couldn’t imagine a reality where I didn’t have this type of music as an outlet.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?

Answer: Avoid petty distractions. Hunt down inspiration. Remain calm and focussed.
