Interview with JEHOVAH ON DEATH

Today, we sat down with Jehovah on Death to talk about their start in music, stories from the recording studio, and much more! Be sure to check out the music of Jehovah on Death below after the interview!

Interview:

How did you get your start in music?

We all felt the need to create. Being the only species able to go against nature and natural order – time, even for a fleeting instant, through our art, is the ultimate blasphemy. What bound us further together was our want to fill the vacancy of the Occult Rock scene in Greece.

What type of music did you listen to while growing up?

Black Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult are powerhouses of ‘70s groove present in our songs, and till this day we still carry our love for Black Metal sounds and concepts of bands like Watain and Behemoth. Μore contemporary additions to our musical taste are Ghost and Devil’s Blood.

What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?

It’s always amusing when slip-ups occur during recording, especially in vocals, since it resembles speaking in tongues. A particularly humorous instance was during the recording of ‘Deathwish’, when the main voice was accidentally copied towards the end of the song, but we decided to keep it.

What is your latest song or album you can share with us?

‘Heart of Guilt’, our most recent EP has just been released to the masses, along with ‘Let Me Die (And Die of Love)’ from the same album. The album focuses predominantly on saintly ecstasies and punishing oneself over the concept of “sin”. Additionally, ‘Heart of Guilt’ features a cover of Christian Death’s ‘Deathwish’ as this song perfectly conveys the aforementioned when in such a context.

Where can our fans find you on social media for any music updates?

Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, Bandcamp, and other common platforms through which we can spread our message.
