Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
Surroundings?

“My inspiration is whatever I feel strongly about or Hammy! I am inspired by music as a means of expression and I find that things come to me easily and with less resistance when I’m writing about something I feel strongly about. Additionally, Hammy is such a fantastic and impressive musician that the privilege of writing with him itself is extremely inspiring to me.” – Chels

“As a drummer i want to be the reason listeners tap their foot, and feel the rhythm of the song. Inspiration comes from whatever I am feeling at the time, meaning my style is very dynamic.” – Colten

What type of music did you listen to growing up?
“I was only allowed to listen to christian music. Mostly Christian rap, until I heard a rapper make a rock song (Raised in Harlem by T-Bone, my brother and i used to headband to it until we had headaches LOL)” – Chels

“I listened to pop & rock music that was popular on the radio. My main intake was whatever my mom had playing in her van, which ranged from Def Leppard to Madonna.” – Colten

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

“From a music perspective I have always looked up to Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan as one of the most influential drummers to me. I connect with his style of playing, and strive to achieve his level of expertise.” – Colten

“Freddie Mercury – Best front man to ever do it, at any time could hold 80,000 people at the palm of his hands. Broke genre, musical, theatrical norms at the time that make up for a huge collection of what rock n roll is today.” – Nic

4. If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

“If I was not a musician, I would most likely still be working in my various IT roles and spending lots of time with my family. I would still have a passion for music, even if I was not actively playing an instrument.” – Colten

“Probably eating Taco Bell.” – Hammy

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
Music?

“Do it as much as you can! Find your style! Surround yourself with who or what inspires you!” – Chels

“My advice would be to turn your brain off and not think too hard about what to write. Just let the sounds you want come naturally to you, and the music will follow.” – Colten

“Fuck what others say!! Ultimately do music for you, if you are releasing your music to cater to others then you aren’t being true to yourself, release what makes you happy and you’ll be the most passionate about it, it’ll pay off long term!” – Nic

How did the track ‘Better Gone’ come together, and what does it mean to you?

“Chels and I combined some pieces we had both written on our own and came up with the basis for Better Gone. We later brought it to Nic and Colten and the rest is history.” – Hammy

How does it compare to anything else you’ve done before as a band?

“It takes everything we’ve written on the first album and combines all the best parts. Better Gone is a solid single and we’re all glad to finally share it with everyone.” – Hammy

What do you want the track to do for the representation of Horror Movies In The Morning?

“This track is a great representation of the different elements you may experience while listening to our music. It combines the heavier riffs with the melodic undertones for a unique roller coaster of feelings as you listen on. If this is the first song a listener hears from our band, I want it to captivate and spark their curiosity to how else we could expand on our genre.” – Colten
