Interview with Habrand

Today, we sat down with Johan Niemann of Habrand to discuss their inspiration to write music, heroes, and much more! Be sure to check out their music below on Spotify after the interview!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your

surroundings?

Johan Niemann/Håbrand: For me, music inspires music. Movies can be
inspirational, as well. But I find that just sitting with an instrument
is enough. Things happen if you let them.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

JN: It was all about Kiss when I was a kid. Then Iron Maiden, Scorpions,
Alice Cooper, Metallica.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

JN: Early heroes were Gene Simmons, Steve Harris and Cliff Burton. As a
budding bass player, those guys were huge for me.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

JN: Work in a library or bookstore, maybe. Paint, perhaps. I don’t know.
I don’t really have any interests outside of music.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create

music?

JN: Write something every day. Don’t worry about writing crap, you have
to go through a lot of bad ideas to get to the good ones.

And don’t create music to be rich and famous, there are easier ways to
do that. Do it because you love it.
