Interview with Eloah

Today, we sat down with Eloah to discuss their inspiration to write music, heroes, and much more. Be sure to check out the music of Eloah below on Spotify after the interview!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

Most of my inspiration stems from my experiences, or more accurately, from the emotions these experiences evoke. However, there are times when inspiration strikes unexpectedly, and I don’t fully grasp its source. In these moments, I simply let it flow — I pick up the guitar and begin improvising. Once a core idea for a song begins to take shape, I start writing the lyrics. It’s not a deliberate process but more of an observation, where I aim to act as a channel for the inspiration.

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

As I was growing up, I listened to and played classical music as well as singer-songwriter (chanson) styles. Later on, I discovered and learned to appreciate the world of Jean-Michel Jarre with his synthesizer soundscapes. In my teenage years, I began to enjoy rock and metal as well.

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

The heroes of my youth were definitely the major rock and metal bands, such as Iron Maiden, Savatage, Manowar, and Virgin Steele.

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

In addition to being a musician, I work as a physicist and manager at a research center, and I greatly enjoy my role as a scientist. Besides that, I also practice Japanese martial arts. I can’t imagine focusing on just one of these activities, as I find fulfillment in all of them. So, it’s hard to choose between them, since I enjoy and value each aspect of my life equally.

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

My advice for aspiring musicians is to experiment with different instruments until you find the one that resonates with you the most. Once you’ve found it, dedicate time to learning it, practice regularly, and, most importantly, enjoy the process. Music should be a source of joy and self-expression, so don’t be afraid to explore different sounds, genres, and techniques. The more you immerse yourself in the instrument, the more your creativity will flow. Stay patient, stay curious, and most of all—have fun with it!
