Today we sit down with Diseased Earth to talk music, managing wrestlers, and of course music growing up! Be sure to check out their Spotify list below and jam to some good music.
Here is the interview:
What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your surroundings?
Travis (Diseased Earth Vocalist): we write music because it’s a way to get out all the stress and BS that comes with day to day life. Our guitarist Paul said it best when he said “Playing music keeps the sad away.” music is a huge part of my mental health and allows me to get a lot of stuff out that I normally can’t.
What type of music did you listen to growing up?
We all listened to all types of music growing up, some old country to classic rock to metal and punk. I remember riding around in my dad’s truck listening to old country and Skynard, etc. It wasn’t into Middle or High School that I discovered metal and felt more drawn that way. Metal is still my number one, but I find myself listening to a lot of the stuff I grew up with more and more as well.
Is there someone you looked up as a hero?
I can’t speak for the other guys, but me personally, I’ve always looked up to Henry Rollins. From his music to his stand up and social commentary, I’ve always felt like he is someone I can relate to.
If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?
Well career wise, I’m a tattoo artist. That’s my day to day job. playing music is more of a passion. other than that, id probably be a pro wrestler or least a manager.
What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create music?
just play. don’t worry about being serious, or even sounding good at first. just play and have fun with it.
