Today, we sit down with Johan Ahlqvist of Chaos Eternal to talk his start in music, stories in the studio, and much more! Be sure to check out Chaos Eternal music and social media below after the interview!

Interview:

How did you get your start in music?

I think I was about 12 years old. My moms friends boyfriend played guitar in a band called Beseech at that time and he asked me if I wanted to learn guitar. I jumped on that chance and after that I have been working on music whenever I can.

What type of music did you listen to while growing up?

Well, growing up I listened to a lot of popmusic since that was the kind of music we had at home. Along the way I found rock/hard rock/metal partly via Klas who teached me guitar and also by borrowing the albums with the most evil covers from the library!

What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?

The funniest story must be when we were recording a demo for my thrashband Dust back in the day. I had a softairgun shotgun which I pointed at our singer and let him know that each mistake meant taking a blast from the shotgun. I did blast him a couple of times. Later that evening we had a competition to see who could take the most blasts and take the most pain, I won! I dont think I have to say that we were drunk as hell.

What is your latest song or album you can share with us?

Right now that would be The Journey Pt1: Through the maze and The Journey Pt2: Higher and higher which are coming out this friday, 25th of november 2022! My favorites from those album right now are Voices from Pt1(there is a lyrics video for that on youtube) and Ready to go from Pt2(lyric video coming soon).
