Interview:
How did you get your start in music?
Since I was little, I was always singing. When I reached adolescence I knew that what I loved above all else was music and since then I have not stopped studying about it. Vocal technique, piano, harmony, musical language, even my university studies are Musical Teaching and History and Music Sciences. I was always singing in bands in my neighborhood and even orchestras. Later I founded Black Rock, with whom I recorded two albums and since 2015 Bárbara Black, today with three published albums.
What type of music did you listen to while growing up?
Different styles such as rock (Rolling Stones or Europe), metal (Judas Priest or Black Sabbath), soul (Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Witney Houston), blues (Blues Brothers).
What are fun stories you can share while you’re in the studio recording music?
Every morning before the recording session started, Nitro showed up with lots of churros and hot chocolate for everyone so that we could start the recording with strength and energy. In addition, Javíer and I while the others were recording, we played with funny filters of the Instagram stories and we laughed a lot.
What is your latest song or album you can share with us?
Our latest album is “Love, Death & Flies” it was released in March 2020. It is an album born from the roots of southern rock with the power of today´s metal. It is our darkest sound. The last song we released is Vampire Love: Chapter I- You Belong To Me, a song that talks about the gender violence through the vampire metaphor.
