Interview with Arctic Dreams

Today, I sat down with Alex Y, Sydius, and Glam Dickens who are part of the band Arctic Dreams. We talk their inspiration to write music, type of music they grew up listening to, and much more! Be sure to check out their music below after the interview on Spotify!

Interview:

What is your inspiration to write your music? Is it your
surroundings?

Alex_Y: ‘I’m inspired by a lot of different things. Mostly books, movies and video games. But sometimes I get ideas from the events around me.’

Sydius: ‘It’s everything. Like for any other people: if you’re in a good or bad mood, seen, read or heard something, experienced, had some quarrel or conversation. All that influences your state’

Glam_Dickens: ‘ It is the surroundings, of course, people, music, art, nature…’

What type of music did you listen to growing up?

Alex_Y: ‘Heavy metal, of course.)) I started when I was about 9 years old.’

Sydius: ‘I started with classic rock digging in all directions around’

Glam_Dickens: ‘I was not fond of music until 10 or 12 years.’

Is there someone you looked up as a hero?

Alex_Y: ‘Of course, James Hetfield, Dave Mastain, for example. Musicians with unusual fortunes.’

Sydius: ‘Now it seems shameless… It’s good to respect sb as a hero but not looking up. Unless it’s a person who is worth it by taking responsibility for you. Like your parents. But not all parent are really ready’

Glam_Dickens: ‘I do not think there were one or even a hero. Most likely there were role models’

If you weren’t a musician, would you be doing today?

Alex_Y: ‘Probably a movie director’

Sydius: ‘My interests are so wide it seems I could be anybody, but it’s an illusion, you can be only yourself’

Glam_Dickens: ‘It’s difficult to say for sure, because since I plunged into music I could not think of myself as not a musician.’

What advice do you have for our fans out there that want to create
music?

Alex_Y: ‘Go all the way and never pass up in the face of difficulties’

Sydius: ‘If you already CREATE – just go on and on, If you WANT to create – find what else you actually want’

Glam_Dickens: ‘Be honest with yourself first and make it as good as you want it to be.’
