Injustice DC Animated Movie Review

An unthinkable tragedy propels Superman into a dangerous new mindset, ultimately pitting Justice League members against each other in Injustice, an all-new DC Animated Movie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the feature-length animated film is set for release on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack (USA $39.99 SRP; Canada $44.98 SRP), Blu-ray (US $29.98 SRP; Canada $39.99 SRP) and Digital on October 19, 2021.

Inspired by Injustice: Gods Among Us, NetherRealm Studios’ popular video game, and the best-selling DC graphic novel based on the video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us: Year One by Tom Taylor, the animated film Injustice finds an alternate world gone mad – where The Joker has duped Superman into killing Lois Lane, sending the Man of Steel on a deadly rampage. Unhinged, Superman decides to take control of the Earth for humanity’s own good. Determined to stop him, Batman creates a team of like-minded, freedom-fighting heroes. But when Super Heroes go to war, can the world survive?

We were able to get the movie early to check out and do this review. The movie showcased a view of Injustice that gave Superman the sensation to literally go mad. We were hooked just from the first 20 minutes and throughout the movie felt like you were reading a comic book. Check out our review below, we won’t spoil too much, but we want you all to get a gist of the movie of what we liked and didn’t like. Also, be sure to pre order or buy the movie below on Amazon.

Pro:

  • Story
    • The story starts off as Batman and Superman finding the criminals going a bit crazy. Then Lois goes missing as she is kidnapped by the Joker and taken somewhere else. Superman and Batman do their investigations and things start to unravel. Superman thinks he is destroying Doomsday by flying him into space but it was actually Lois. The Joker tricked Superman using Kryptonite mixed with Scarecrow’s drugs. Afterwards, Superman kills the Joker and starts on a rise of disaster for the Justice League.
  • Animated Art
    • I have to say the art was fantastic in this movie! You felt like they used actual pages of the comic books to bring the characters to life. I enjoyed how they showcased the broodiness of Batman to the emotional pain of Superman. Very well done by the artists and animators!
  • New Characters
    • I’m a big Batman and Superman fan, but those characters needed a team that will feel more well rounded. I was excited when they had Plastic Man involved in the movie as well as Mirror Master, Raven, and Mr. Terrific. DC has a ton of characters that they can use and these were excellent choices.

Con:

  • Character Voices
    • I know we will get a lot of flack for this but quite honestly, some of the voices didn’t match up to the characters in the movie. There was a times where it felt forced in their voice than relaxed and how it should sound. I guess we are used to a more brooder Batman or softer Catwoman.

Rating: 9 out of 10
