Following the release of her candid single “Implicit” earlier this year, Californian singer-songwriter Meg DeLacy is back with a captivating music video for the track.

A glittering bassline runs throughout the gentle soundscape, guiding and driving the stripped back production. With the minimalist instrumentation, Meg’s raw and honest vocals are pushed to the forefront of the song, highlighting the emotional and heartfelt narrative.

“I was in a relationship where I felt distressed at times. Some memorable moments would slip through the cracks and he wouldn’t remember in the morning. This song was created as a reminder for him to remember me, remember the warmth and remember the love. Keep me in your mind”, Meg explains. Blending immersive visuals and lyrics, the video acts as a retro cinema – playing out like an old home movie.

Incorporating glossy pop beats into her R&B melodies, the Los Angeles native draws inspiration from the likes of Jhene Aiko, Amy Winehouse and Corinne Bailey Rae to create her rich soundscape. Having gained notoriety as an actress, she made her musical debut back in 2018 with her first single “Bruises” – an intoxicating electro-pop song highlighting Meg’s vocal prowess.

With support from CelebMix, Skope Magazine and Indietronica, “Implicit” portrays Meg as an artist on the rise.

The video for “Implicit” is set for release 20th November.
