I was able to play Immortals of Aveum using my Xbox Ultimate Game Pass subscription. The game was pretty hefty as it was a little bit over 50 gbs from what I remembered. Immortals of Aveum started off in a cinematic sequence where then you followed your friend around learning the basics of controls. Then after a while, your homeland is attacked by an enemy that destroys your home and kills your friends. You are angry and use powerful magic in your body that you didn’t know you had. Once you destroy those enemies, your recruited to be part of the defense of your homeland and hone your magic skills.
I enjoyed playing Immortals of Aveum on my Xbox Series S console. The story was really interesting and how it was conveyed through the cinematic sequences. The combat was good as well where I learned to use different types of magic stones to destroy my enemies. I didn’t like the quirks that were said like jokes in the game, but hey it happens.
My Thoughts
Pro:
- Story
- The story is pretty decent as your homeland was destroyed by these enemies. You confront them and use powerful magic you didn’t know you had to destroy them. You are then recruited to be part of the defense of your homeland and learn how to manage your magic while also figuring out why they are there stealing some important artifacts.
- Cinematic Sequences
- To me, the cinematic sequences made Immortals of Aveum feel like your in a movie. The animation looked very life like and enjoyed learning more of the story through that way.
- Combat
- The combat was good in the game. Your able to switch through different magic crystals to use against enemies. Each different magic part is good for combat such as distance, power, and more. I enjoyed that as you had to create ways to destroy enemies while also being creative as well.
Con:
- Quirks
- I didn’t like the little jokes that were spoken a few times from characters. You know those little jokes felt out of place in my opinion and cheapened the experience.
