SAN ANTONIO, TX – Just in time for the Halloween season and the Halloween Ends release, San Antonio has a brand new horror convention with a twist taking place this weekend, October 15th & 16th. Wonderland of the Americas will be host for the debut of the QUEENS & KINGS OF HORROR FESTIVAL featuring over 125 independent vendors and artists in addition to ten celebrity guests headlined by a mix of classic and modern day “Scream Queens” and “Slasher Icons”. Danielle Harris (Halloween 4 & 5, Rob Zombie’s Halloween I & II, Urban Legends) and Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween I & II) co-headline the event focused on maintaining an equal focus on the ladies of horror who all too often get overlooked by slashers in the genre.

“One of the key aspects about this event when planning began was to present an equal representation of the genre for both Scream Queens and horror slashers as well as making sure modern horror was in the mix,” said event coordinator Angel Castorena. “The other key focus was to make this event accessible to everyone who may not be able to afford those high end haunted houses this season or bigger but still awesome Comic Cons. This is why we’ve committed to keeping general admission to the public free for our events in 2022 and Wonderland allows us the ability to do so on a bigger level.”

Joining Harris & Compton are Hannah Fierman (V/H/S & Sirens), Judie Aronson (Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Weird Science, Hannibal) & actress, director & producer Deborah Voorhees (Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, 13 Fanboy). On the “Kings of Horror” side of the celebrity line-up is a representation of 3 key slasher icons; Warrington Gillette portrayed ‘Jason Voorhees’ in Friday the 13th: Part II, Jim Winburn was one of the men who portrayed ‘Michael Myers’in the John Carpener 1978 classic, Halloween & Michael Bailey Smith is best known as “Super Freddy Krueger” in Nightmare on Elm Street V: The Dream Child as well as work on “Charmed” & both remakes of “The Hills Must Have Eyes”. Joining the slasher trio is Michael Hargrove who portrayed ‘Candyman’ in the 2021 release & AJ Stoan, known as ‘Leatherface’ in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3.

General admission to the vendor market is free and includes festive Halloween décor for phot-ops and costume contests both days. ‘Horror Hall Passes’ are just $10 and include access to celebrity area, an exclusive event gift and access the Saturday evening afterparty at Industry for those 21+. There are several meet & greet packages also available; some with event merchandise and start as low at $45.00.  To purchase tickets and for more information please go to socialrevoltstore.com and click on Queens & Kings of Horror Festival.
