The Copenhagen-based independent artist effortlessly blends the bittersweet emotions of missing someone with a touch of humor as he makes his debut with the single ‘Counting Days’.

Originally written as an attempt to emulate Caroline Polachek’s ‘So Hot You’re Hurting My Feelings’, ‘Counting Days’ took on a life of its own, morphing into an 80s-tinged indie pop track.
Honni most recently relocated, moving to Paris adding a personal twist to his debut single.
“‘Counting Days’ is written to reflect the complexity of being physically distant from someone you care about, trying to be understanding, while struggling with the mental toll of separation as you wait for that special someone to come back into your life. But now that I’m the one who is far away from home, the lyrics resonate even more, reflecting life’s constant motion and changing perspectives,” Honni says.
Honni’s sound blends woozy guitars with light, cinematic soundscapes and with ‘Counting Days’ there’s something bubbling beneath the surface, making his music as layered as his emotions.
“My songwriting often starts with me, my guitar and my computer and whatever comes to mind. I’ve usually written in metaphors but this time I wanted to be more concrete and real, writing about something happening right now. The lyrics might feel heavy at times but there’s still a sense of humor woven in – after all, I’m singing about counting days in a ghost house.”
