Gun Honey Issue 1 Comic Book Review

Gun Honey kicks ass! Yes you heard me! The first issue of Gun Honey just kicks ass! The issue reminded me of how awesome action films started off with such convincing detail and creative imagination.

Gun Honey is about a young woman named Joanna Tan that likes to give bad people the middle finger but through her own creative way. In this issue, a man on a yacht finds a beautiful woman on the beach that he must have! As she comes onto the yacht, she goes into the restroom to freshen up and hides a pistol in the toilet. While she is in the jacuzzi soaking up some rays, we hear a commotion and the guy is shot. She leaves the yacht and starts to talk about her life as Joanna Tan. Eventually, a government agent brings her in to talk about a situation with explosives that caused a disaster. She feels very bad as we learned even more of her upbringing and how she learned her skills. She doesn’t yes or no, but she goes on a new journey that brings her an unexpected surprise.

A well written comic book issue that introduced the characters of the story with some limited back story. I was very impressed by the art in this comic book issue. The artists created a life of the characters through the art and felt like I was watching an action film in the movie theaters. I can’t wait to check out Issue 2 and see what happens next!
