Grant Gilbert Pays Homage to His Texas Roots on Anthemic New Single “West of Fort Worth” Out Today via River House Artists

January 10, 2025 – Today, singer-songwriter Grant Gilbert shares his new single “West of Fort Worth” via River House Artists. Garnering over 25 million streams across platforms to date, Gilbert returns with an anthemic love letter to his Texas roots. Driven by his signature rasp and a soulful guitar riff, the song takes listeners on a scenic ride through the Lone Star State.

“I’m super excited about ‘West of Fort Worth,’” says Gilbert. “I feel like it’s what I’ve been chasing and trying to say as a songwriter for a long time. I love it even more since it’s about where I’m from. It’s as real as it gets for me.”

“West of Fort Worth” follows last fall’s feel-good collaboration with Clayton Mullen“Things a College Town Taught Me,” along with a series of singles including his 2019 breakthrough “Held On To,” which amassed over 1 million streams, and “Drunk Since Dallas,” which marks his third consecutive #1 at Texas regional radio. 2023’s Between the Highways EP found the rising singer-songwriter teaming up with producer Jonathan Singleton (Luke Combs, Zac Brown Band) and boasts fan favorites like “She Goes Home (Dirty Breakup Song)” as well as the Josh Abbott-featured “Six Pack State of Mind.”

Inspired by everything from his grandparents’ Texas swing and fiddle tunes to his dad’s penchant for Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and ‘80s country hits, Gilbert was just a kid when he started playing guitar. By the time he arrived at college in Lubbock, he was playing his own songs around town and snagged a coveted weekly residency at the famous Blue Light where artists like Wade Bowen, William Clark Green and Josh Abbott also cut their teeth. Now, with his electrified, genre-blurring sound and stories defined by heartland soul, he’s continuing to carve his own path in music with more on the horizon.
