Sammy Hagar says,  “Music is one of the most valuable assets we can cultivate in future generations and I’m passionate about safeguarding it. At its core, music does more than entertain — it challenges, it inspires, it creates collaboration, it provides a creative and cathartic outlet for expression, comfort and joy.  I’m proud to help shine a light on Give a Note Foundation, who do amazing work for music educators and the next generation of musicians. The more accessible and equitable we make music, the better this world will be. Let’s go SXSW!”

Beth Slusher, CEO of Give A Note Foundation adds, “We know that providing innovative, culturally relevant music education programs in school attracts more students to participate in music and creates pathways to exciting music industry careers. Give A Note is thrilled for this opportunity to partner with Sammy Hagar to amplify our mission for equitable access to music in school here at SXSW.” Matthew Reich, Co-Founder of Artist for Artist says “It’s in Artist For Artist’s DNA to support impact organizations that are making a difference in underserved communities. About Give A Note
GIVE A NOTE Foundation 501(c)(3) provides support to nurture, grow and strengthen music education opportunities – every student, every school, every community. Founded in 2011 with an initial investment from 21st Century Fox and TV show GLEE, and in cooperation with valued partners, including CMA Foundation, Radio Disney, and National Association for Music Education, GIVE A NOTE has awarded grants in excess of $1.4 Million in support of music education. GAN’s annual Music Education Innovator Awards (MEIA) recognize teachers who have developed creative, effective in-classroom programs and provides ongoing support to encourage lasting change within a school or district. Ninety-five percent of MEIA grants serve students from underfunded metropolitan and rural K-12 public school districts where funding for music education is deficient. Nationally recognized by music educators as an organization that passionately champions their life’s work, GIVE A NOTE delivers opportunities for students to become their best selves through learning and creating music. #MusicEdMatters
