Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed Xbox Series S Review

When you end up in the traditional fire house from the Ghostbusters movies, you know this is going to be epic! Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is the newest game in the Ghostbuster family. You and up to 3 other friends are on the squad to try and keep things from getting haunted. These ghosts are pesky so you will need your trusty Proton pack as well as traps to get these away from buildings and people.

IllFonic was able to send us a codes to play the game on PS4, Epic Games and Xbox Series S! My team and I were able to play together cross platform as a team of Ghostbusters. We were able to trap ghosts, save people and of course look cool while doing it. I experienced the story mode and it was good. I felt this was unique fun game under the Ghostbusters banner that had my team and I at the edge of seats. I had so much fun playing on the multiplayer games where we shined together. No weak links here even me…cough cough. I believe fans will be excited to play this game when it comes out!

Here is our review:

Pro:

  • Story Mode
    • You will chose jobs  to go to places that are being haunted and remove that haunting.  You must make sure you save people, remove the ghosts and not allow people to leave. You need to use your PKE meter to find ghosts, zap them and trap them in your traps. You need to find haunted relics and destroy them so the rifts can be closed. Remember you are on the clock, be sure to get it done haha.
  • Multiplayer
    • I’m not a big fan of multiplayer games online, but this game won me over! I never had so much fun playing with my team online. This reminded me of the golden days of playing 4 players on someone’s console back in the late nineties. You had that fun factor mix with nostalgia that had you focused in the game.
  • Create Your Own Buster
    • When the game starts up, you create your character on who you will be portrayed of in the game. I was pretty psyched as I always wanted to be a Ghostbuster. With my imagination, I get my character as close to looking like me as possible.

Con:

  • Game Crashed
    • While playing the game on story mode, I experienced two times the game had crashed. I had to physically reboot my Xbox Series S in order to get out of the game. Once rebooted, I was able to play the game again on story mode yet crashed in the second level. I talked to our other reviewers and they didn’t experience it on Playstation or PC. I did experience this on my Xbox Series S and hope there will be an update to help with that situation.

Rating: 9 out of 10
