Ghost The Real-Time Live Action Game Hits £100k

Jed Shepherd, the writer and exec producer of the ‘genre phenomenon’ HOST, along with the main cast of the hit film are making the world’s first real-time live-action video game, due for release in early 2022. The game is being made in collaboration with UK based Visible Games and distributed by Limited Run Games on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Steam. Creature design is by Siren Head creator Trevor Henderson and being brought to life by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Photos of the game’s ‘antagonist’ THE LONG LADY have already gone viral, with websites around the world reposting the ‘sightings’ of her on a South London street.

About the Game

You play a TV producer, operating the outside broadcast van for a failing cable channel called FrighTV. Their flagship show is GHOSTS. As the cast explore a haunted location, you not only need to worry about their safety, the noises you hear around the van and the strange neighbours, but there’s also the urban legend of The Long Lady. Sightings of The Long Lady on this very street have chilled the bones of residents for decades. She appears in times of tragedy, looking through the windows of houses on the street. It’s said that if you look directly at her face, you die. Curtain salesmen do gangbusters here.

The full terrifying real-time version of the game is only playable at 10pm in your local time zone.

Edge – “GHOSTS is one of the most intriguingly unusual concepts for a game we’ve seen in a while, and one we’ll be keeping a close eye on.”

Jed Shepherd speaks:

“Reaching the £100k milestone is an incredible feeling and I am utterly blown away away by the support GHOSTS has had from the backers and media. We have a lot of hard work left to do on the game and so many exciting things to announce. The great Hideo Kojima once said ‘As a creator, I always want to betray fans’ expectations.’ and that’s exactly what I’m trying to achieve with GHOSTS. A game that still holds surprises on multiple playthroughs and an experience that you’ll never forget.” – Jed Shepherd

100k raised only 65k to go!

So far GHOSTS has topped 100k and well on its way to reaching its 165k fundraising target. The end is in sight with just over a week to go. The campaign has received great fan and media support which includes news and features from iconic press outlets like Rolling Stone, Bloody Disgusting, Fangoria, Famitsu, Gamespot, Gamesradar, PCGamer, SlashFilm, TheSixthAxis, IGN Nintendo Life plus many more.

The Sixth Axis – “With the kind of expertise on hand GHOSTS looks like it could be a real horror gem.”
