Investment combined with Kickstarter campaign funds, brings a total production budget of $450,000

Barcelona, Spain – September 8th, 2020 – JanduSoft S.L and Grimorio of Games today announced that Game Seer Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Aschaffenburg, Germany, has provided full financing for Sword of the Necromancer. The $250,000 investment, combined with funds secured through a crowdfunding Kickstarter campaign, brings a total production budget of $450,000. Sword of the Necromancer is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in late 2020.

“Our VC investment and the crowdfunding Kickstarter success highlights the community’s steady love for 2D roguelikes offering couch co-op with procedural elements”, said Bertrand Vernizeau, CEO and Investment partner. “The appeal and support could potentially be explained by the love of gamers for titles such as Wizard of Legend, Moonlighter or Azure Dreams, all while supported by the common interest in games with parallels to Zelda“.

“The investment from Game Seer has given the team the mentorship and creative freedom to follow our vision for Sword of the Necromancer“, said Jose Antonio Andujar Clavell, CEO and founder of JanduSoft S.L. “We can’t wait for the community to go hands on with Sword of the Necromancer, as we ramp up to a simultaneous PC, current and next-generation console launch in late 2020″.

Sword of the Necromancer casts players in the role of Tama, a former rogue determined to resurrect her lover, the priestess Koko, who she swore to protect along her pilgrimage. This brings Tama to a legendary crypt that’s rumoured to hold the power to raise the dead.

It’s there where Tama obtains the Sword of the Necromancer, a cursed relic that can resurrect dead monsters… and turn them into allies in the process. Every enemy you defeat can be transformed into a companion, so it’s up to you how to amass your beastly party.

In addition to monsters to recruit, Tama can also fight using a large variety of weapons, ranging from swords to spears to bows. Nothing lasts forever though, as every time you die you lose all your gear and half of your level. And if you’re really feeling adventurous, Tama can clone herself using the Flask of Homunculus, allowing for a friend to jump in for some two-player local co-op.
