An ode to classic games at the Arcade, this first person shooter will have you shooting down those aliens that want to conquer your planet. GALAXIUM is a game on Steam with a 3D feel that will have you ooze nostalgia through your veins.
I was able to play this game on my ASUS laptop using the Steam program on my drive. The game didn’t need too much space which was perfect for me as it was faster to download. I was able to do a review below, but heads up on this game…it is addicting. You will not notice how long your playing as hours will pass by as you want to advance the level your at during the game. This is a very fun game but can be challenging! Have fun!

Pro:
- Story
- I like the story! A new element was discovered on Earth that gave us an easier way to fly and discover our solar system. A situation happened which caused an explosion which caught the attention of Kroh, an alien species to come to our planet. A war ensued and we won barely but now they are back with a bigger armada. You are destined to rid the Kroh by destroying their space ships. I dig it!
- 3D Game
- I enjoyed the 3D aspect of the game as it made me feel like I’m playing something futuristic! I felt I was in the future fighting aliens so they wouldn’t destroy my character. The detail utilized in the 3D atmosphere is fantastic which gave my imagination a spin on what will come throughout the game.
- Extra Boosts
- Throughout the game, you find extra boosts such as shooting 3 elements at the same time, jumping high and destroying the aliens, having a shield for a limited time, and much more. I felt this helped me get through the levels easier as well as implementing a unique form to destroy the aliens.
- Strategy
- After a few quick losses, I decided to up my game and use a strategy to find a way to beat these aliens in each level. I discovered going the opposite way from them in the beginning to get that first shot in. Then, I would go at them while shooting to try and destroy as many as I can. I also noticed the middle area as a good area to get some good shots in compared to the left and right sides of the screen.
Con:
- Controller / Mouse / Keyboard
- I had wanted to use my controller for the game but the thumb stick only worked for controlling the character. I used the mouse and right click to shoot the weapon and used specific keystrokes to use the extra boosts. I lost my concentration a few times while doing this and hope this can be condensed in the future.
