Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Steam Next Fest Review

Social media today is still the best way to discover anything in our world. We are sometimes limited to what the news provides us and especially for gamers, we are at times just stuck with meme websites and opinioned news instead of the proper news you crave. While talking to our fans on Twitter, we met the developer of the game Fursan Al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Twitter. We exchanged information and he gave us the opportunity to try out his new game during Steam Next Fest. We couldn’t resist this opportunity and decided to have some fun with the game.

I was able to add the game to my Steam account real quick. Then, the game downloaded to my laptop with quite ease with a little bit over of 20GBs needed of space. Then, I had to download an additional Microsoft program (Yes I hate Windows 11) to run the game, but all good in that spot. I decided to play a few missions under the Classic mode of the game to try it out from that point of view, but there is a remake of the game mode that you can play as well.

Our Thoughts

Pro:

  • Missions
    • What I really like about the missions portion is that you have a checklist of what you need to do to accomplish a mission. Once you accomplish something from the check list, you will see a check mark! I dig that hard! This helps me understand what I need to do first and keep myself organized instead of just being all over the place trying to achieve anything.
  • Metal Gear Solid
    • I felt like I was playing Metal Gear Solid all over again while playing the game. I had my missions, but I had to be stealthy to not be alerted through the cameras on the walls. I would have to disable those cameras and then complete my missions as stealthy as possible. I had fun as it had me thinking of how to accomplish the win and do it in a way not to get killed.

Con:

  • Controller Error
    • I tried to use my controller to play the game but it kept on reverting to the mouse and keyboard. I do have a USB mouse connected to my laptop, so I don’t know if that caused the error or not.

Rating: 8 out of 10
