World War II-Themed Documentary Revealing Incredible Story of Allied Airmen’s Survival in German Concentration Camp Debuts on North American VOD Platforms June 15th

Los Angeles, CA – May 24, 2021 – Freestyle Digital Media
, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, has acquired North American VOD rights to the World War II-themed feature documentary LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD. LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD will be available to rent and own on North American digital HD internet, cable, and satellite platforms on June 15, 2021 through Freestyle Digital Media.

The feature documentary LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD relays the story of 168 Allied airmen who fight for survival in Germany’s infamous Buchenwald Concentration Camp during World War II. When 168 Allied airmen hiding with the French Resistance are betrayed by a double agent and arrested by the German Gestapo, they are then denied P.O.W. status, sent to the infamous Buchenwald Concentration Camp, and their fight for survival becomes one of the most incredible stories of World War II. Featuring a multinational group of survivors from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD tells their riveting story after decades of secrecy by their own governments. Facing starvation, disease, execution, forced marches, and even a bombing by their own side, the airmen are in a race against time to get out of Buchenwald alive.

Written and directed by Mike Dorsey, LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD features profiles and interviews with U.S. and Allied Airmen Joe Moser, E.C. “Easy” Freeman, Phil Lamason, Ed Carter-Edwards, Chasten “Chat” Bowen, Don Shearer, James Stewart, and Richard L. Bedford.

LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD was produced by Mike Dorsey, Gerald Baron, Frank Imhof, and Duane McNett.

“Over the years, my grandfather’s story about surviving Buchenwald would unfold in bits and pieces, over a post-dinner glass of wine or during a commercial break while watching baseball on TV,” said filmmaker Mike Dorsey. “In recent years, I came to realize the true uniqueness of what happened to him and the rest of the 168 Allied airmen imprisoned at the Buchenwald Concentration Camp, and why it was so important to tell their story. Every airman I interviewed held a different piece of the puzzle revealing why their group was sent to Buchenwald and how they were able to survive. The more I dug, the more incredible the story became. The result is a gripping, heart-pounding film about survival and brotherhood.”

Freestyle Digital Media negotiated the deal to acquire LOST AIRMEN OF BUCHENWALD with A3 Artists Agency representing filmmaker Mike Dorsey.
