Singer-songwriter Christopher Mansfield (aka FENCES) has launched a new video for ‘My Pale King’ taken from his latest 5-track EP ‘Wide Eyed Elk Ensemble.’ Watch it HERE.

The EP is built on the sounds of his previous effort, the critically acclaimed LP ‘Failure Sculptures,’ which was released as an expanded deluxe edition earlier this year.

Mansfield says of ‘My Pale King’ “I wrote My Pale King while living in a cabin in Big Sur. I would watch the deer drink from a plastic bucket I filled with sink water. The song was a hat tip to Indian Giver, David Foster Wallace and my daughter. The never ending brigade is about angels. The trouble with angels is that you can’t always see them. So the song is really about trust falling into feathers”

Over the years, the musician has caught the attention of and collaborated with a diverse group of fellow artists including Tegan & Sara, Macklemore, Death Cab for Cutie’s Chris Walla, Jacquire King (Of Monsters and Men), Nile Marr (son of Johnny Marr), Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In) and Ryan Lewis, while touring with the likes of Against Me! and Hellogoodbye.
