Eladio Carrion X Big Soto got San Antonio vibing during their latest concert at Aztec Theater! I had seen Eladio Carrion earlier this year in Austin during The Billboard event for SXSW 2023. He opened up for Feid during that performance and threw down hard at SXSW 2023. I knew I had to see Eladio again and low and behold he had his own tour with a stop in San Antonio at the Aztec Theater. We were able to get review tickets through Live Nation to check out Eladio’s first time performance in San Antonio.
Our Thoughts
Big Soto
I have to admit, I haven’t heard of Big Soto before attending the concert. I talked to a few people around me and they let me know you are not going to forget who Big Soto is again. They were damn right! Big Soto commanded the stage with a swagger that I haven’t seen before on a concert stage. He spit rhymes to the crowd which got everyone jumping up and down. San Antonio gave Big Soto loud cheers of “Soto, Soto” which gave approval that he outdone himself during the show. I expect him to be back to San Antonio as a headliner as many in the crowd knows how hard he went during his performance.
One thing that hit me hard was Big Soto’s respect for the fans. One young man was singing all the songs while waving his national flag and had tossed it on stage. Big Soto grabbed the flag to put it on himself while continuing the show. After the performance, he signed not only the flag but other items fans had thrown on stage. The crowd were able to throw the flag back to the young man and he was was beside himself as he was proud to have gotten that auto from his hero Big Soto. I will never forget what Big Soto did for that fan and others in San Antonio!
Eladio Carrion
Eladio didn’t waste any time after Big Soto got off set to perform for the crowd. I’m used to 15 to 25 minutes wait between sets from performers but once staff cleared the stage, Eladio came out strong to an eager crowd. Eladio had the fans singing along to his tracks non stop! He looked very humbled as people were cheering and clapping their hands in approval after each song. He made sure everyone got their money’s worth and played for nearly 2 hours in his debut in the Alamo City.
I was dancing along with everyone hitting my stride with some of his hit tracks during the show. The strobe lights did hinder my viewing at times but who cares haha! I had my head down continuing to groove to the music. I saw many individuals cry after the show saying it was the best time of their lives seeing Eladio perform in San Antonio.
