The Book of Magic for the award-winning Dragonbane RPG offers players and Gamemasters alike a deep dive into the nature of magic. It introduces no fewer than nine new schools of magic – Demonology, Harmonism, Illusionism, Necromancy, Symbolism, Witchcraft, Alchemy, Enchanting, and Dracomancy – as well as new spells for the existing schools: General Magic, Animism, Elementalism, and Mentalism.
I was able to get a review sample of Dragonbane: Book of Magic to review. I was able to do a First Look video below to show you what came with the book.
First Look:
I was able to sit down with my friends and look over the Book of Magic. This book is more so as a tool to use for games than being a game for itself. You and your friends will learn Spells through the new schools used in this book. The spells total over 300 and I thought that was cool. A friend thought it was a bit overwhelming but I looked at it as this way. The schools are there to help you hone your magic and utilize what works for you and what doesn’t. This way, when you play a game of Dragonbane, you will have a list of spells to use in your disposal.
This book is great to add more flavor to your characters in Dragonbane and give it an extra pitch of spice!
Pro:
- Options for Spells
- With over 300 spells to choose from, you can learn about various spells to use during your games.
- New Schools
- The new schools add different ways to curate your magic such as Alchemy, Witchcraft, Necromancy, and many more.
Con:
None
Rating: 10 out of 10
