Diamante Eléctrico—Latin Grammy-winners known for their soulful rock ballads, return to the stage this summer. First stop is the Ruido Fest in Chicago on Aug. 22, followed by a touring slate of 16 shows as special guests of Mexican icons Café Tacvba as the Colombian act introduces their highly-anticipated Deluxe album, “Mira Lo Que Me Hiciste Hacer.”
Led by Juan Galeano and Daniel Álvarez, the celebrated band enters the summer season ready to rock their dynamic and spirited musical style—a touchstone of Diamante Eléctrico’s staying power nearly a decade-long. It is this benchmark that continues connecting to fans and “Mira Lo Que Me Hiciste Hacer,” or “MLQMHH,” is no exception to the band’s global reception.
“MLQMHH”’s has a musical swagger that is funk-inspired, pop-infused and highlights a charming collection of work embracing–and rocking–an ‘80s aesthetic that flows through the entire album, topped with a fresh reimagining of the classic Tears For Fears track, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World.”

Noting a global pandemic, the group’s timeline and evolutionary worldview has certainly shifted through the years and with that arrives new perspectives reflecting these unprecedented times. Approaching 10 years on the music scene as a band, Álvarez describes the latest work as “a communion between what we like to play and what we like to hear … an album that we will listen to non-stop.”
The Deluxe edition, inspired by enthusiastic fan appeals, pivots a far-reaching scope, introspectively. The themes of the compositions are universal and at the heart emerges spectacular storytelling and stirring reflection that ultimately illustrates the commanding music mastery of Diamante Eléctrico. The new release was accompanied by two sold out shows in Bogotá, a place that witnessed the band’s growth and is also one of the group’s home cities.
