CSL Esports, operators of the nation’s largest collegiate esports league, today announced a partnership with the Singleton Foundation for Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship to expand its scholastic curriculum. During a new virtual esports summer camp program that CSL Esports is hosting in partnership with Learn2Esport, CSL Esports and the Singleton Foundation will debut Venture Valley, the Foundation’s new multiplayer business-building game where players pit their business savvy against friends and competitors.

“Education is a core component of CSL Esports,” said Rob Johnson, CEO, CSL Esports. “We engage young students to pique intellectual curiosity that could lead to opportunities in higher education, meaningful careers, and success in life.”

“Financial literacy is more important than ever,” added Johnson. “The concepts students will experience in Venture Valley can be utilized to augment business, finance, and economics curriculums.”

As part of the relationship with The Singleton Foundation, CSL will also incorporate Venture Valley into CSL Esports leagues, tournaments and original broadcast content.

“Business lessons gained through esports can truly begin at a young age,” said Johnson. “We look for meaningful partnerships to further expand into the gamification of curriculum in any discipline, and we are extremely excited about the concepts that Venture Valley offers to students.”

“The Singleton Foundation’s mission is inspiring entrepreneurship and making financial competence fun, engaging and accessible to all. CSL Esports summer camps get us closer to achieving that goal. We see tremendous value in engaging with young people through games like Venture Valley that help players gain real-world understanding and skills,” said Shelley Miles, CEO of The Singleton Foundation. “Venture Valley shows players how to manage businesses, be their own boss, gain an entrepreneurial mindset, and better understand business financial concepts, all while having a great time. We’re proud of our partnership with CSL Esports who, like us, want to help inspire young people through gaming for good.”

CSL ESPORTS SUMMER PROGRAM

CSL Esports is dividing its summer programming into seven one-week long online Summer Camps for middle school and early high school-aged students, and seven one-week long online Summer Combines for high school-aged students looking to reach the next level of serious competition. The camps and combines will feature six game titles; Venture Valley, Rocket League, League of Legends, League of Legends – Wild Rift (Mobile Game), NBA2K, Madden NFL21 and FIFA21.

At the CSL Esports Summer Camps, participants will focus on team-building, sportsmanship and will inherently be learning 21st-century skills.

At the summer Combines, CSL Esports & Learn2Esport will evaluate participants, and through a match-making system, pair competitors with others in the same skill set to ensure proper development and advancement.

Each available program will allow approximately 10-15 participants per program. Each session will run for five days, (Monday through Friday) and will last approximately two-and-a-half hours each day with sessions starting Mid-June and running through Mid-August.

“Each daily session is timed to be no more than three hours to encourage participants to also remain active and healthy throughout the day,” added Johnson.

All attendees at both the summer camps and combines will be eligible to participate in a free, end-of-summer online CSL Esports-hosted tournament.

Registration is now open here. The cost ranges depending on which game title and whether the attendee is participating in a Summer Camp or Combine. Prices start at $300/week for each session.
