Collect-a-Con Houston 2024 Review

Collect-a-Con Houston 2024 Review

My name is Todd Hoefler, and I went to Collect-A-Con in Houston, TX on April 6th, 2024.   This is a travel convention with lots of stops throughout the country.   It is a collectors dream with trading card games, Funko pops, figures, comics, toys and more!  They also have amazing guests!  This show had brought David Yost, Walter Emmanuel Jones, Victoria Taylor, Jason Paige, and many more!   This is my review of Collect-A-Con. It’s a great place to meet fellow collectors of anything from Pokémon Cards to Funko Pops!

The Pros were they had such a great selection of vendors inside with so many different items that there were really no limits to what you could find if you were a collector of Pokémon Cards, to Action Figures, to everything in-between! The guest line up was great as well and they were so accommodating with everyone they met, and so appreciative of the fans.  This event comes through Houston twice a year.

The Con, which was a big one, was the space.  It was in such a small part of George R Brown that there really wasn’t enough room to walk through the aisles without bumping into anyone, and where the stage located made it very difficult to get to the vendors that were positioned near there during the performances, and probably hard to hear even if you were trying to figure out prices from the vendors themselves.  If they could get a bigger space for the next convention in the Fall or find a better spot for the stage so it’s not crowding the vendors that would be great!

That was my review of Collect-A-Con, and the Pros and the Cons of the event.  The Pros again were the great selection of the vendors that they had, and the guest line up was great! The Con was the space the aisle was narrow, and the stage placement made it difficult to get to vendor tables close by and hard to hear them with the performances from the musical acts going on.   I can’t wait to see what guests they have in store for the convention when it comes back through in the fall!
