TULSA, Okla. (March 30, 2022) — Clayton Anderson‘s new “Show Me Your Fish” — the “fishing song of the year” (Hook & Barrel Magazine) — was the theme song for Major League Fishing’s REDCREST 2022 Presented by Costa – Pro Bass Fishing’s World Championship and Inaugural Expo which ran March 25 – March 27.  Anderson released “Show Me Your Fish” (written by Anderson, Christian Stalnecker, and GRAMMY winner Dave Audé) digitally on February 25. When executives at Pure Fishing, Inc., maker of the leading rod brand Ugly Stik heard the song, they, along with MLF, invited Anderson to be part of this weekend’s event.

Anderson performed on the Mossy Oak Music stage at the SageNet Center at Expo Square in Tulsa on Sunday, March 27, at 4 p.m. before the world’s premier bass anglers returned from Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees to crown the REDCREST 2022 Champion – professional bass fishing’s world championship. Fans of all ages were in the audience, cheering, and singing along to every word.

The week started on Tuesday, March 22 when Anderson and his band boarded a bus and departed Nashville on the “Road to REDCREST” visiting four radio stations along the way.

He stopped, performed for and shared Ugly Stik gear with KIX 106 WGKX in Memphis; 99.9 KTCS in Fort Smith, AR; Okie Country 101.7 KTFX in Muskogee; and 98.5 The Bull KVOO in Tulsa, as he pulled into town on Thursday.

“It was quite a week as our Berkley pro angler Bobby Lane took home the REDCREST championship throwing the Berkley Frittside and our new friend Clayton Anderson headlined Championship Sunday, closing his set with his new hit ‘Show Me Your Fish,'” says Jon Schlosser, Senior VP of Marketing at Pure Fishing. “It was great to have him there all week, interacting with fishing fans of all ages and showing some love for Ugly Stik, America’s most popular brand of fishing rods.”

Jim Wilburn, Major League Fishing President and CEO, (pictured here with Clayton) says, “Major League Fishing’s REDCREST 2022 was a giant success and Clayton Anderson performing on Sunday evening was the icing on the cake.”

Anderson says, “REDCREST was beyond epic. The crowds were huge, and everyone was so genuinely nice. I can’t thank the Ugly Stik and Pure Fishing folks enough, along with the Major League Fishing organization for giving me the opportunity to be a part of it all. Meeting the pro guys, like Skeet Reese, Kevin Van Dam, and winner Bobby Lane was a huge thrill, but just as rewarding was getting to give our new children’s fishing activity book to the kids that came by from the local Boys & Girls Club and helping them catch some catfish in the kids zone.”

Adding, “I’ve said it from the day I came up with the idea for ‘Show Me Your Fish,’ the people are going to be the ones who make or break this song on social media platforms. Showing their catch and using the ‘Show Me Your Fish’ sound, that’s how we will blow this song up and get to #1 on country radio. I truly think that journey started on the Road to REDCREST. It’s gonna be a heckuva year bending Ugly Stiks and catching fish, I guarantee ya.”

A country singer-songwriter with a midwestern rock flair, Anderson grew up on the lakes of Southern Indiana — fishing, boating, and playing his guitar. As a student at Indiana University, he kicked off his music career, building a grassroots fan following playing local bars and parties. In 2008, he walked onstage at Kenny Chesney’s Next Big Star Battle in Cincinnati and walked off as the winner. He released his debut album, Torn Jeans & Tailgates, in 2011, followed by Right Where I Belong (2014) and Only to Borrow (2016). Pre-COVID, he toured nonstop, opening for Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Thomas Rhett, Lee Brice, and Carly Pearce.

During the pandemic, Anderson got creative, going virtual and diving back into his roots on the water with a lineup of Lake Tour concerts. To kick off 2022, Anderson released two brand new singles: “Nothin’ But Net” (produced by Grammy-winning Dave Audé and as heard on ESPN for College Basketball Season) and “Get After It” (produced by Nash Overstreet), a song that celebrates hard work and getting the job done.

Anderson’s appearance at REDCREST 2022 was presented by Ugly Stik. The brand also hosted a meet and greet with Anderson at the Berkley booth during the expo and handed out Ugly Stik giveaways to fishing fans who watched his appearance on the Mossy Oak Music Stage. More information on Anderson’s appearance can be found by following Ugly Stik on Facebook and Instagram.

Hosted by VisitTulsa, REDCREST 2022 Presented by Costa took place March 23-27, 2022, with competition set for Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees, and the REDCREST Outdoor Sports Expo Presented by Costa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event showcased the top 41 Bass Pro Tour anglers from the 2021 season competing for the prestigious REDCREST Championship and the top prize of $300,000.
