What is Chaos Wastes?
Chaos Wastes is the next chapter of the Vermintide 2 story, and it is available as a free download. In Chaos Wastes, the players will -try- to reach the Citadel of Eternity, but only the pure at heart will be able to complete the journey. The Citadel of Eternity is a place most have only heard of through rumors. It is said to be located in a region influenced by the Chaos Gods and apparently Saltzpyre knows how to get there – or so he claims.
To reach the Citadel of Eternity the heroes will have to leave their fancy and hard-earned armour behind and go back to the basics. The journey begins where it all began over three years ago, with simple equipment that will require skills.

Is Chaos Wastes a new Vermintide 2 experience?
Chaos Wastes is meant to be a completely different experience compared to our regular missions and the Weaves. It is a journey through which you discover boons of varying power to combat the curses of the chaos gods and best the Wastes. The core of the game will of course stay the same, but the strength of your character will grow dramatically while progressing in your expedition.
What is an expedition?
An Expedition into the Chaos Wastes is a series of Levels and Shrines that conclude with a very challenging level. Players are sometimes presented with a fork in the road with the option to choose their next destination on the expedition map. Completing a full expedition will reward players with a chest.
Is Chaos Wastes for everybody?
The short answer is “Yes”. Chaos Wastes is meant to offer challenges to players of all skill levels. Equipment is not a factor as it will be acquired during your session exploring the wastes. Talents however do keep their effects inside the mode.
Can I play it together with my friends?
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a co-op game, and the Chaos Wastes update is no different. Yes, this is how matchmaking works, gear etc. Everyone gets on the same level.
Will there be new weapons?
All our characters have a new weapon available with the Chaos Wastes launch. While the Chaos Wastes is free and available to everybody that owns Vermintide 2, new weapons and cosmetics will be available to purchase.
Where will Chaos Wastes be located in the Keep?
When you enter the Keep, go to the right down the stairs on the opposite side of Lohner’s Store, and there you will find it. This is where the adventure begins.
