Candeleros–the Colombian-Venezuelan band based in Madrid–is known for making rhythms that transcend space, time, and borders. This time we will travel with them across the screen to Austin, Texas, to the International Festival of Independent Music and Film South by South West (SXSW) by the hand of Sounds from Spain. After last year’s festival was postponed due to the pandemic, the 2021 SXSW performances were rescheduled via streaming platforms.

In March, Candeleros, with Belako and Alien Tango, represented Spain with a 15-minute showcase for SXSW that is now available online. Check out the performance and enjoy their fresh sounds exploring Afro-Caribbean, urban and psychedelic rhythms during these times of confinement and uncertainty.

In addition to this live session, Candeleros will soon be presenting its latest album “Buku o muerte”: new songs included in the soundtrack of the video game “Cartel Tycoon” and an EP with two new tracks. The band is also preparing surprises for the coming months, and, if the health conditions permit, they will announce new concerts for 2021 through social networks.
