FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Boston Uprising announced today the signing of tank player Young-sun “GaeBullSsi” Yun, who signed with Uprising Academy in February and is now joining the main roster competing in the Overwatch League.

GaeBullSsi, an 18-year-old from South Korea, was teammates with current Uprising players Jin-ui “Im37” Hong, Hong-gyu “Faith” Kim, and Byeong-ju “Valentine” Kim on World Game Star Phoenix when they became Contenders 2020 Season 2 champions in the Korean region at the end of last year.

“We are excited to bring up GaeBullSsi from the academy roster to reunite him with some of his former WGS Phoenix teammates and coach Lori,” said Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of the Uprising. “These previously built relationships will allow him to mesh with the team quickly, making him a solid option alongside Punk at off-tank in 2021.”

Prior to his time with WGS Phoenix, he competed with EXL-Esports in the Pacific region of Contenders in 2018 and then with GEEKSTAR in the Korean region of Contenders in 2018 and 2019. He has an off-tank hero pool of Sigma, D.Va, Zarya and Roadhog.

This will be the Uprising’s final signing before their opening match in the 2021 Overwatch League season. The match starts at 4:30 PM on April 24 against the Los Angeles Gladiators.
