FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Boston Uprising announced today that South Korean tank player Min-seob “Axxiom” Park is taking a leave of absence from the team for a medical procedure.

Axxiom, 20, joined the Boston Uprising in October 2018 after spending several months on the Toronto Esports roster, the Uprising’s Overwatch Contenders affiliate at the time. Axxiom played in three matches in 2019 and started in the team’s first two matches this season before missing the most recent game vs. Philadelphia.

“First and foremost, we wish Axxiom a safe procedure and speedy recovery,” said Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for the Uprising. “Axxiom is a talented main tank and a kind teammate, and we hope to see him competing again soon.”

Career history:
2019-2020: Boston Uprising (OWL)
2018: Toronto Esports (Overwatch Contenders NA)
2017-2018: Foxes

The Uprising’s season continues this weekend, as they travel to Miami to compete against the Florida Mayhem on March 15. The Uprising will host two homestand weekends on April 25-26 and June 27-28 at the Citizens Bank Opera House. Tickets are available on Ticketmaster.
