BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston Uprising announced today the hiring of Valentin “Ascoft” Wulfman as an assistant coach. Ascoft, 24, most recently competed as a support player for HSL Esports and announced his transition to coaching in October.

Ascoft is from France and has competed in Overwatch since mid-2017, appearing in major events as early as Overwatch Contenders Season Zero. Most recently, he played with HSL Esports from June to October 2019, helping the team win Overwatch Contenders 2019 Season 2 in Europe. As a result, HSL Esports qualified for The Gauntlet as the only European squad in the 10-team field. Prior to those accomplishments, Ascoft played for Eternal Academy in Contenders 2019 Season 1 and with HSL Esports for the Trials and regular season of Overwatch Contenders 2018 Season 3.

“I’m super excited to join the Uprising for next season,” Ascoft said. “I’ll give 200% in order to create the best environment for my new team and use my experience as a former pro player to help the team succeed.”

“Ascoft is a natural leader with a clear idea of what he wants to achieve,” said Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for the Uprising. “We look forward to employing his insight throughout the 2020 season.”

The Uprising look ahead to the 2020 OWL season, as they will return to Boston and host two homestand weekends on April 25-26 and June 27-28.
