BOSTON UPRISING ANNOUNCES 2019 FALL COLLEGIATE CUP QUARTERFINAL BRACKET

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. –  The Boston Uprising announced today the eight qualifying teams and knockout bracket for the Fall Collegiate Cup, which will continue online on November 23 and conclude on November 24.

The Boston Uprising held the preliminary stage of its Collegiate Cup on November 16, as 11 teams fought for four spots in the quarterfinals. Those four qualifying teams will square off against the four semifinalist teams from the Spring Collegiate Cup, which received a bye into this edition’s quarterfinal knockout bracket. The quarterfinal matchups are as follows, with teams that advanced via bye listed first in each pairing and teams that advanced via preliminaries listed second:

  • Northeastern University A vs. Northeastern University C
  • University of Massachusetts Amherst A vs. Champlain College
  • Boston University vs. University of Massachusetts Amherst B
  • Emerson College vs. Becker College

The quarterfinal matches will be a best of three maps. The semifinals, third-place runoff and finals will be a best of five maps. The quarterfinals and semifinals will take place on November 23, with matches beginning at 2:00 PM. Of the quarterfinal matches, the bout between UMass Amherst A and Champlain College will be streamed live on the Boston Uprising’s Twitch channel (twitch.tv/bostonuprising) while the other matches will occur simultaneously off-stream. Both semifinal matchups will be streamed live directly following the selected quarterfinal match.

On November 24, the Collegiate Cup will come to a close, with the third-place runoff match and finals being streamed to the Uprising’s Twitch channel starting at 2:00 PM. The winning team will earn $5,000 for its collegiate esports program. This Collegiate Cup is the third such event hosted by the Uprising. Northeastern won both previous tournaments in December 2018 and April 2019.

The Uprising look ahead to the 2020 OWL season, as they will return to Boston and host two homestand weekends on April 25-26 and June 27-28.
