FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Boston Uprising announced today that the team has mutually parted ways with South Korean damage player Sang-beom “Munchkin” Byun.

Munchkin, 21, joined the Boston Uprising in November 2019. He appeared in one of the Uprising’s three matches this season, starting the season opener vs. NYXL. Prior to joining the Uprising, Munchkin played with the Seoul Dynasty throughout both previous seasons of the OWL. He parted ways with the Dynasty prior to Stage 4 of the 2019 season.

“Munchkin is a talented veteran and smart, capable leader,” said Chris “HuK” Loranger, President of Gaming for the Uprising. “We are respectful of his decision to depart from the team and wish him luck in his next venture.”

The Uprising’s season will continue this weekend, as they travel to Washington, D.C. to compete against the Washington Justice on March 7 and the Atlanta Reign on March 8.
