We enjoyed watching the movie and have added it to our Holiday Gift Guide. We don’t want to spoil much of the movie, but when you have a chance, be sure to get the Blu Ray version to get to see the special features.

Our thoughts

Pro:

  • Story
    • The story of Blue Beetle starts off with a young Jaime Reyes that comes home from college to find out some unexpected news. His family’s home and businesses has gone under and they need help with money to pay off bills. Jaime gets a job with his sister to help with bills, but is unexpectedly fired. While there, he meets Jennifer Kord who promises him a job. When he meets her the next day, she gives him a box to hold onto for her. I will stop here as I don’t want to spoil too much, but the story is good. The story flowed very well in the movie.
  • Special Features
    • The special features in the blu ray edition is pretty cool. There is a Blue Beetle Generations section where it talks about the origins of Blue Beetle as well as behind the scenes in production. I enjoyed this section as I got to learn more about the Blue Beetle story and how it came about as well. Very neat!
