Leeds based new face in the alternative pop/rock scene, Before Me are delighted to announce the launch of their new single “Can You Feel” – the second track from their forthcoming self -produced EP “Do You Feel“. First track, “Can’t Sleep” launched last month received critical acclaim including a feature as one of BBC Music Introducing in West Yorkshire’s “Five New Faves”:
“Full of powerful vocals and electrifying riffs, bold and emotionally-charged choruses, the Leeds-based band have well and truly arrived with this tune” – N-Eight
“Before Me throw everything on the table… this song is a masterpiece” – Independent Music News
“With some excellent production values the track is as crisp and clear as anything else out there currently drawing in the plays on Spotify..” – It’s All Indie
In contrast to melodic tear-jerker “Can’t Sleep”, new single “Can You Feel” is a dramatic change in mood, an anthemic number depicting the instability felt when falling for someone. The juxtaposition of melancholic vocals contrast with a triumphant instrumental perfectly capturing the emotional rollercoaster of early relationships.
Launching themselves on to the alternative pop/rock scene in 2020, Leeds-based 3-piece band, Before Me are best mates, now housemates, who have been making music together since they formed their first band in 2013. They cut their teeth writing songs and selling-out local headline shows before realising they had something special – moving en-masse from Gloucestershire up to Leeds to study music. After spending their first year discovering their identity, crafting their sound and perfecting a stunning live show, now aged 20, they are releasing their entirely self-produced, debut EP ‘Do You Feel‘. In the EP, Before Me have found a synergy between atmospheric, delicate, electronic textures and high energy, live band elements to produce a sound that is as exciting as it is original.
Taking influence from modern British guitar bands such as DON BROCO, The 1975 and Bring Me The Horizon, it’s no surprise to find emotional, hard-hitting choruses interspersed with detailed, synthesised backdrops throughout the EP. Lyrically, it explores stories personal to the band yet highly relatable to the audience, depicting the complex nature of relationships in adolescence.
“Can You Feel” will be available digitally on all major stores and streaming platforms June 5th. The entire EP “Do You Feel”, will be available June 19th.
