Audible invites SXSW attendees to a live podcast taping of the acclaimed new Audible Original, The Unusual Suspects with Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell. Series co-hosts, award-winning writer, producer and director Kenya Barris and The New York Times bestselling author and journalist Malcolm Gladwell, will sit down with renowned author and researcher Brené Brown on the SXSW stage for a candid conversation about reaching the pinnacle of success. The taping is held on Sunday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m. in Ballroom D of The Austin Convention Center.
Elsewhere in Austin, Audible is also popping-up the Audible Listening Bar at The Fast Company Grill from Saturday, March 8 through Monday, March 10. Festival attendees can grab a pair of headphones, unwind, and dive into excerpts from The Unusual Suspects with Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell. Additionally, on Saturday, March 8, Barris and Gladwell will join a select group of Fast Company Grill attendees to raise a glass to their new podcast during an invite-only cocktail hour.
The Unusual Suspects with Kenya Barris and Malcolm Gladwell is an unscripted series featuring raw, in-depth conversations with extraordinary individuals. Bypassing pleasantries, Barris and Gladwell dive straight into candid discussions with influential figures. Launched January 30, 2025 as part of the multi-project development deal with Kenya Barris and his production company, Khalabo Ink Society, the series features guests like WNBA legend Sue Bird, former Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, chef David Chang, rap icon Dr. Dre, director Ava DuVernay, comedian Jimmy Kimmel, and Maryland Governor Wes Moore.
