Apex Comics Group publisher MARIANO NICIEZA and the one-and-only legend JIM STERANKO are proud to announce that after the character’s creation circa 1972, the sword-and-sorcery barbarian percolating in Steranko’s theatre-of-ideas will now make its debut as an exclusive EXECUTIVE REPLICAS action figure with accessories!
“It’s the 50th anniversary of the fan-favorite character,” said Steranko, “and we’ve taken the occasion to celebrate his timeless appeal with a classic addition to his warrior legend. That surprise will make its debut at SDCC this year.”
The acclaimed EXECUTIVE REPLICAS is producing a 6-inch, highly articulated action figure based on Steranko’s classic character Talon the Timeless™. Working together with LooseCollector and its CEO, Dave Cardenas, as the creative and production team, Executive Replicas anticipates this figure will be a much-in-demand collectible.
“I grew up seeing Talon the Timeless™ images on posters, articles, and prints,” said Executive Replicas co-owner Winston Dunlop. “This will the first time ever that an action figure based on Steranko’s character has been done. I’m a truly blessed: Not many get to meet their childhood hero, but then to stay in contact with them for decades and then actually work with them on the very characters you grew up admiring? It’s a dream come true. It is an honor to be doing this with Steranko.”
Additionally: Executive Replicas is producing a 6-inch action figure for Mariano Nicieza’s character Phazer from the writer-artist’s Phazer Universe. “The Phazer Universe has some really great-looking characters,” said Dunlop, “and as a collector, I would want them on my shelves.”
JIM STERANKO revolutionized comics as the innovative writer-artist visionary of Nick Fury: Agent S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America, and as artist of some of the most legendary images of the X-Men, Superman and Batman. He authored the definitive Steranko History of Comics, and created one of the first modern graphic novels: Chandler: Red Tide. As concept artist of Raiders of the Lost Ark, he visualized the iconic look of Indiana Jones for George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, and he collaborated with Francis Ford Coppola as concept designer on Bram Stoker’s Dracula.
