Nashville, TN – Seasoned performer and American Idol Season 13 alumna, Casey McQuillen released her new single, In & Out featuring Jon McLaughlin today across all major online retailers. Penned by Casey McQuillen, Hadley Kennary and Charles Humenry, this track uses emotive lyrics and harmonies to depict a story of lovers attempting to find the balance through the undulations of a love affair. Produced by Charles Humenry, In & Out is available to purchase and stream at https://ffm.to/cminandout.
“Months into the pandemic, I was at a loss for what to do.  My tours and interviews had been cancelled. It felt like my whole career had been cancelled,” recalls Casey. “Every day, I woke up and tried to summon inspiration. Most days, there wasn’t any. But one morning, on a burst of energy, I decided to sort through all my old voice memos and a melody caught my ear.  It was a haunting, romantic melody that had drifted into my head years ago. In & Out was created from the embers of my past and kicks-off a brighter future. And, because life sometimes plays out like a movie, one of the singer/songwriters I most admired as a young writer, Jon McLaughlin, agreed to lend his beautiful, intimate vocal performance to this duet.  In & Out is the first preview of my upcoming album.”
On Apple Music, In & Out is currently featured on the “New in Pop” and “Heartbreak Pop” playlists.
Casey broke out on the national scene as a performer on Season 13 of American Idol where she received incredible praise from the celebrity panel of judges.
“Excellent. Your tone is gorgeous.  You sing beautifully.  You have all the right things to blossom.” – Keith Urban
“That was angelic! I just loved it!” – Jennifer Lopez

Recognizing, even before the pandemic, that the mental health of students needed to be supported and nurtured, this Berklee College of Music alum expanded beyond her commercial releases to launch a “You Matter” tour.  The tour, targeting students from primary to secondary education, has impacted more than 40,000 to date and landed her recognition from The United Nations Foundation and a spotlight on the Kelly Clarkson Show“The ‘You Matter’ tour is a concert series that uses my music & stories to help students treat themselves & others with empathy & respect,” says Casey. “Getting to connect with thousands of young fans all over the world has profoundly influenced me as an artist. Recently, I got an email from a 6th grade girl who was being bullied for her brain cancer. She thanked me for changing her life & improving how the other students treated her. That was one of the most humbling moments of my life. Stories like these keep me performing & making honest music.”
About Casey
To say Casey has been busy would be an understatement. Whether touring extensively across the U.S. and Europe, receiving international press and recognition for her anti-bullying concert series The “You Matter” Tour, or gaining a loyal fan base from the millions who watched her as a powerhouse vocalist on Season 13 of American Idol, Casey has accomplished so much in her short career. On the touring front, Casey has headlined her own sold out shows in New York and Boston. She’s also supported incredible acts like Stephen KelloggKate VoegeleTyler HiltonEric HutchisonClark Beckham and Nick Howard. The songsmith has organically accumulated tens of thousands of followers on social media and millions of views and streams of her music online, largely because her songs are authentic, intimate and relatable. The young performer is committed to being honest with her fans by sharing her personal struggles and empathizing with theirs. Her music videos are perfect examples of this. The video of her first single Beautiful, which premiered on Extra TV, depicts her powerful story of growing up in our beauty-obsessed society, and her previous release, Hold Me, illustrated the loneliness of transient relationships. This summer Casey is launching the sneak peak of her forthcoming album with the release of In & Out, a duet with Jon McLaughlin.
