Born and raised in the Scottish Highlands, Craig Irving spent his formative year’s lending guitar and vocals to some of Scotland’s top folk acts, culminating in the winning a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award with the folk trio Talisk and supporting multiple worldwide tours with six-piece Gaelic band Mànran.

Now, releasing his own material, the young singer-songwriter combines modern pop rock with folk influences to create his unique, personalised sound. The buzzing, guitar-driven instrumental, compliments the emotive hook that is both deeply felt and instantly catchy.

When asked about the track, Irving stated: “Fall represents the kind of music I’ve wanted to release under my own name for a long time. I think it has a really uplifting feel and embodies the drive and energy I wanted to express. The inspiration for the song comes from my own life experiences, the good and the bad.
I’ve played guitar for many different bands and singers in Scotland over the last few years but I’ve also felt during that time that I’ve really been working on other people’s goals and dreams, it feels good to finally be working on my own.”

Craig Irving is set to release ‘Fall’ via EmuBands July 26th.
