Rising Algerian-Canadian artist Adam Haddour is on the verge of releasing his highly anticipated EP, ‘Let Me Land’. Known for his unique blend of R&B-pop fusion with a grittier edge, Adam is ready to showcase his evolved sound, characterised by emotive storytelling and cutting-edge production.
Adam’s journey began with his first EP, recorded during a downtime session at Dean Street Studios in 2018. Since then, he has been a fixture on the London music circuit, performing at renowned venues such as Camden Assembly and The Troubadour. The pandemic brought a temporary halt to live performances, but also provided Adam the opportunity to rethink and refine his sound.
This in turn has led to ‘Let Me Land’; a five-track exploration of the complexities of modern-day romantic interest, with each song weaving through the intricate emotions of love and heartbreak. The EP’s lead single, ‘Icarus’, is a brooding electronic pop track that encapsulates the essence of Adam’s new musical direction. Featuring an intoxicating mix of synth-driven electronica, trap beats, and lush pop vocals, ‘Icarus’ delivers a soundscape that is both unique and relatable.
Adam’s sound has been meticulously crafted with the expertise of producer Charlie Zhu and studio engineer Charlie Rolfe, his creative partners since 2018. The collaboration between Haddour and Zhu’s atmospheric production work has resulted in a fresh, lyrical sound that feels trap-infused with a melting pot of genres intertwined.
Adam shares “Icarus is the final song on my five-track EP ‘Let Me Land’. It completes the narrative of a failed love cycle that the tape explores. The tape cycles through all the emotions of love; it starts with the promise of a new-found love in ‘Left the Party’. Icarus is about the inevitable low when romance crashes and burns.”
Returning to the stage in 2024 with a headline set at Colours Hoxton, Adam unveiled new singles from ‘Let Me Land’, much to the delight of his growing fanbase. His 2022 single, ‘Forbidden Fruit’, offered a tantalising preview of what’s to come, setting the stage for a transformative year ahead in 2024.
Adam Haddour is truly an artist on the rise, with a sound that is both innovative and deeply personal. As he prepares to release ‘Icarus’ and ‘Let Me Land’, he invites listeners to join him on a journey through the highs and lows of love, guided by his soulful vocals and evocative lyrics.
