New York, July 19, 2021—ABRAMS will be featured at Comic-Con@Home, a free virtual event created by the organizers of San Diego Comic-Con that will include virtual panels and an online exhibit hall. The celebration will take place July 23–25, 2021.

Detailed below are the authors, artists, and staff representing a wide array of ABRAMS’ imprints, including Abrams ComicArts, Megascope and Amulet Books, who will participate in six virtual panels. Information also includes our impressive six Eisner nominations this year, as well as all of the titles, promotions, and exciting giveaways that will be available in the online exhibit hall.

Run: Book One, a new graphic memoir from Abrams ComicArts, shares an overlooked chapter in civil rights history, following the career of civil rights leader John Lewis after the signing of the Voting Rights Act in 1965. Join the Run team including coauthor Andrew Aydin and coillustrator L. Fury as they discuss creating with the late Congressman John Lewis the follow-up to the #1 bestselling graphic novel trilogy March, and the importance of sharing his legacy with future generations. Also joining the panel is Congressman Lewis’s nephew Anthony Dixon, a firefighter with the Los Angeles County Fire Department for more than 30 years. Moderated by Professor Qiana Whitted.

In Conversation with Alex Ross: The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Mural and Poster Book

Renowned comics artist Alex Ross discusses the creation of the epic mural that was commissioned for the New York City offices of Marvel Comics. These now-iconic images are now the subject of Ross’s newest book, The Alex Ross Marvel Comics Poster Book, which features all 35 full-figure portraits, commentary by Ross, and a four-page pull-out poster of the complete Marvel mural. Ross will discuss the creation of these portraits, the stories behind each Marvel character, and his approach to creating these singular images in a conversation that will look back on his award-winning career in comics and look ahead at what else is on his drawing table. Moderated by Sal Abbinanti.
